Will is a self-employed wildlife surveyor and conservation advisor who has worked primarily in Asia since 1986. His focus has been on the Lao PDR and surrounding countries, understanding which birds and large mammal species and habitats are most in need of conservation assistance, why, and how they may best be conserved.
Will has published much primary status information on birds and mammals of little-known parts of Asia.
He holds a PhD in Zoology and is the IUCN SSC Red List Authority Coordinator for small carnivores. He is also the species advisor for the IUCN SSC Asian Species Action Partnership.
